You’re Not Here to Play Small—You’re Here to Lead (and become rich AF)
So first, bury your “Good Girl” persona.
Embracing power and money is non-negotiable if you’re serious about growing your business into real wealth. I’m talking about having the luxury of time—to do your best work, be present with your children, and, yes, change the world.
But the biggest mistake I see women making when scaling their businesses? They’re still stuck in their fucking Good Girl era.
I’m an amazing mom and a kind, funny, and generous friend. I’m also a let’s work out our shit wife.
But when it comes to business? I am fiercely and unapologetically a leader.
When I started my business (kind of like when I joined Substack a month ago), I had no idea what I was doing. I wanted to be friends with everyone. I carried my Good Girl persona into every space—until I realized that if I wanted to take my business seriously, I needed to change my approach.
So unless you’re making a shit ton of money (from your best work) and embracing the power that comes with it—using it to elevate yourself, provide for your family, and create real change—then you don’t want a business. You want an expensive hobby.
We, as women, face a dilemma every damn time: Do I want to be a “good person” or a “bitchy” leader?
It’s like we’ve been conditioned to believe that power and money automatically make us assholes.
Let this sink in—because it’s mission critical:
If deep down you still believe that power = money = corruption, and that selling = manipulation, you will always stay powerless and overworked.
So don’t be surprised when people keep wanting to “chat” instead of buying your stuff and waste your time with nonsense.
The Biggest Lie You’ve Been Sold
The biggest lie?
POWER = WHITE ASSHOLE PRIVILEGED MALE = BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN.
And yeah, we see that equation playing out every damn day in our systems.
But here’s what never stuck: Good women entrepreneurs with power.
Why? Because that’s exactly what the system wants you to believe.
So the bad guys will always hold the power.
Because if YOU had the power to change things, it would make you “one of them,” and you’ve been conditioned to believe that’s the last thing you want to be.
So what do you do? You reject power. You reject an overflow of money. You reject your own fucking capacity to create change.
Rachel Rodgers said it first in We Should All Be Millionaires, and she was right: Being a millionaire gives you power to choose.
Who you support politically. Who you hire. How well you pay the people who provide valuable services to you—nannies, teachers, artisans, healers, the people who truly make a difference in your life and community.
Real-life example? My nanny makes more than my full time personal VA. My VA knows this. Because my nanny’s daughter is a healer, and because of what I pay her, she can afford to support her daughter’s intuitive work, allowing her to open a studio and serve her community.
So now, because I have the money to pay my nanny a good salary, my community has:
An excellent childcare provider (for my kid and others) - that’s her best work
A well-paid, empowered mother who is raising a child in abundance,
And a healer thriving in her work (her daughter).
This is how money actually creates a healing, peaceful, happy society.
But if I had decided to be “nice” and undervalue my own work, keep my rates low, or give my services away for free, I’d be broke and powerless—unable to do any of this.
Stop Romanticizing Struggle
Somewhere along the way, we started worshipping suffering.
We turned poverty into a badge of honor. Those of us from Christian families know exactly what I’m talking about (I was one of them).
We glorified the “self-sacrificing mother,” the “humble old lady,” the “pure soul” who gives everything away for free.
And look where that got us.
Countless females were erased from history because they weren’t holding the power (and we still do not, fuck). Every single “good person” who could have changed the world was silenced before they even made a dent.
Why?
Because struggle doesn’t make you noble. It makes you invisible.
Nobody gives a fuck about your potential if you can’t pay your bills.
Nobody is funding your revolution if you can’t even fund yourself.
You cannot fight for a better world from a position of weakness.
You cannot create change when you are constantly in survival mode.
You cannot pour into others when you are empty.
Own Your Power, or Be Owned
So let’s talk about this so-called moral dilemma around money.
Because every time I hear a woman say, “I’m not comfortable with selling or talking about my offers,” what I actually hear is:
“I don’t want to take responsibility for my own power.”
And if you refuse to charge what you’re worth and if you “just want to help people”-you’ll be left hustling.
What If you Reframe Money as a Force for Power and Good?
I already know what some of you are thinking:
“But I don’t want to be like them. I want to be liked.”
And that’s the biggest fucking problem.
You are so afraid of being unliked that you’d rather stay powerless. You are so terrified of being seen as greedy or materialistic that you’d rather struggle forever.
And you don’t even realize—that fear is exactly what keeps the wrong people in power.
Because when Good Women reject big money…
When Good Women refuse to charge premium prices…
When Good Women play small…
Guess who gets to stay at the top?
So please, please start here: stop selling a $5 a month membership.
The Energy Shift That Changes Everything
If you take nothing else from this, take this:
You are not a good girl because you struggle or follow a hard work mentality.
You are not a better person because you suffer and spend 12h on your “job” instead of being with your child.
You are not more worthy because you refuse to charge premium.
You are a good girl because of what you choose to do with your power.
And if you actually want to make an impact— If you actually want to change the system— If you actually want to build something that lasts—Then stop running from power.
Stop rejecting abundance and wealth.
Stop apologizing for wanting more.
Stop hiding behind “integrity” as an excuse to stay small.
The world doesn’t need more broke business people. The world doesn’t need more self-righteous martyrs. The world doesn’t need more good girls who are too afraid to own their power.
The world needs leaders. The world needs creators who thrive. The world needs wealth in the hands of women who actually give a damn.
And if that’s you, then it’s time to stop waiting.
Take up space. Charge your worth. Build your empire.
Because a world where YOU hold the power?
That’s a world worth fighting for.

i agree wholeheartedly.
the only missing piece with all of the money making women i adore, is that i am a single mother. i need to know and see that this can be done, from scratch, when it feels like everything is falling apart and i have no support system.
money has confused me for a long time and i am working on my energetic blocks now, but building a sustainable business on top of that is proving to be...well it has not happened yet, though i keep showing up and learning.
This is an excellent piece for all of us who work too hard. I love the idea of going where you flow energetically. I am much older now I have to work in a smarter way or the stress is going to kill me.
